’; of aides of former president Asif Zardari and fearing arrests of important figures, the Sin
dh government has not extended the powers. The Sindh Interior Department sent a summary to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on 5 April to extend the s
pecial powers for another 90 days, but
it could not be approved so far. The arrest of Dr Asim and raids on the Karachi Harbour Authority have added to the ‘woes
’; of the PPP-led government.
